Project 1 Research Proposal
Initially, the students had to analyze the options that were provided to us regarding the topic of the investigative field essay that we were required to write and select one to plan a research proposal. This assignment was for us to plan the essay that we were going to write including the research question, a summary, the purpose of the project, and the possible challenges that we could face in the process of completing the project. Since we had to analyze the different research genre options provided to select the one that best fits our intentions for the project, it can be inferred that this assignment can be related to this outcome. ​

Reading Response: Genre Identification and Analysis (Assignment's description displayed on the "Outcome 2" page.
This assignment fits the criterion for this outcome since it allows students to better identify the several genres that exist through the characteristics that define them. Furthermore, based on what we learned from this reading assignment, our ability to relate a genre to a certain community or group and create writing about that was improved.

Reflection
These assignments fit the criterion because they included finding a topic in various genres that best fits my "Project 1" plan and analysis of the writing "Make Your "Move": Writing in Genres". By looking for the topic that best fits my plan, I navigated through a variety of genres that would allow me to have a better understanding of what my essays can be composed of. Even though the "Project 1 Research Proposal" assignment was not as significant as the "Reading Response: Genre Identification and Analysis" in terms of criterion to the outcome as it does not go as in-depth on the understanding and purpose of genres as the assignment, it was impactful to me because I was able to analyze different genres to find the topic on which I would base my project, which was one of the most important elements to elaborate the essay successfully. Also, these assignments were useful in evaluating several genres and becoming more familiar with them, helping me have a smoother experience when analyzing a source's genre.
These artifacts allowed me to reflect on the challenges I might have posed in the writing process that needed to be followed. Unlike the rest of the major assignments, these particular ones did not require complex writing processes but led me to be prepared for them in future assignments.
